It’s barbecue weather all year around in Brisbane, and Meat at Billy’s is here to help you get it done right.
Meat at Billy’s is a family-run, independent butcher shop that does more than just provide the perfect piece of steak. They also have the knowledge to teach you how to cook it to perfection.
Marketing manager Emma Daley said the upcoming class was aimed at anyone wanting to learn how to cook with charcoal.
“Our barbecue class aims to teach our attendees how easy it is to cook with charcoal on Weber Kettles,” Emma said. “We use Webers as they are versatile and really reliable when it comes to charcoal cooking – and we have more than 20 of them in our warehouse.”
Attendees of the classes range from complete novices who have never cooked with charcoal before, through to seasoned Kettle owners who are looking for some extra tips and tricks.
“The classes are really hands-on, and one thing we always love to see is the look on people’s faces when they finally sit down to eat the reverse seared steak that they cooked themselves,” Emma said. “The smiles and comments about flavour, tenderness, and cooked-to-perfection are the ultimate confirmation that cooking on charcoal can be done by anyone.”
In this class, you’ll go right back to the basics of cooking with charcoal – from firing up for the first time to ensuring your meat is cooked properly every time.
“You’ve got absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain by coming along,” Emma said. “Not only will you learn how to cook the ultimate steak, but Billy’s mantra is that no-one ever leaves one of our barbecue classes hungry or thirsty.
“Our new neighbours, the award-winning brewery Happy Valley Brewing Company, are supplying the beers, and there’ll also be wine and non-alcoholic options available,” Emma said.
“As for the eats, you’ll be cooking and eating as you go, finishing off with an epic Meat at Billy’s grass-fed steak paired with some of our favourite sides and sauces.
