Award-Winning Elvis Performer Has Fans All Shook Up
Experience the music of Elvis like never before when Dean Vegas brings his unmissable show to town. The world-renowned tribute artist will be gracing the stage at Kedron-Wavell on Friday, 31 May, performing the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s greatest hits.

Dean said he would be taking the Kedron-Wavell audience on a journey through Elvis’ life and career.

“It’s all about having fun, bringing back some amazing memories that Elvis left us with,” he said. “No one can ever replace Elvis. I keep the memory alive the best way I know how.

“It is a very entertaining show, it’s fun, it’s funny, it’s serious all in one show.

“Kedron-Wavell as far as I’m concerned is the best venue that Brisbane has. The only regret I have is that I haven’t been there for so long and I can’t wait to get back there.”

With performances in cities like Memphis and Las Vegas, as well as worldwide in places such as China, Dubai, Sweden and Malaysia, Dean’s tribute to Elvis has been recognised globally. In 2007, he was even honoured with the key to the city in Elvis’ birthplace of Tupelo.

He said his favourite songs to perform were American Trilogy and In the Ghetto.

“The words of the songs say it all,” he said. “One song is about the people stifled under privilege and the other was about the north and south in the US in the war and they knew they weren’t coming back. They are very emotional songs.”

Dean has been performing for almost 30 years and has perfected his pre-show routine.

“When I first started, for days I would feel unwell and couldn’t eat, but now I am used to that part,” he said. “In the back of your mind, you want to put on the best show for the audience because it is all about them.”

For Dean, performing is not just about Elvis’ music but honouring the legacy of the man himself.

“I always said Elvis was the full package,” he said. “He had the look, the style, the charisma, everything a man would want to be was in Elvis.

“He was also the most generous human being on the planet and people don’t know that. Elvis grew up with nothing in the poorest area and yet he would give you the shirt off his back.”

Tickets start at $34 for members (excluding booking fee). To book go to www.kedron-wavell.com.au
