Hold On Tight! Rodeo Celebrates Ten Years
Brush the dust off your cowboy hat and head to the Eatons Hill Hotel Annual Rodeo this month for a jam-packed afternoon of entertainment, music and fun.

The popular rodeo event is back for its 10th year, followed by the B&S After Party where singles can mingle and dance the night away.

Kerri King from rodeo organisers’ Xtreme Rodeo Productions said the hotel was a magical atmosphere for the family-friendly event.

“The crowd is always fully involved,” Kerri said. “There are all sorts of tantalising delights to eat. Lots of entertainment for kids – Clappy the Rodeo Clown, stalls and a lolly drop.

“This year is the 10th year of the rodeo. It is also the memorial to my husband Brian King and also of Hank McArthur.”

Xtreme Rodeo Productions conducts rodeos in areas from Central Queensland and Rockhampton to Northern NSW and was formed by rodeo animal breeding business, BK Bucking Bulls and CMC Rodeo Company.

Owner and operator of BK Bucking Bulls and well-known Queensland rodeo identity, Brian ‘Kingy’ King passed away in 2018. Hank McArthur, one of the founding members of the CMC Rodeo Company, passed away earlier this year.

Two commemorative rides will honour the rodeo legends – the Brian King Memorial Open Bull Ride (Bob Berg Trophy Buckle) and the Hank McArthur Memorial Open Saddle Bronc Ride (Bob Berg Trophy Buckle).

Competitors will also be out to collect prizes in events including the bareback ride, novice bull ride, U-18 bull ride, U-15 mini bull ride, U-12 mini bull ride, and a new addition to the program – an over 40s bull ride.

Spectators won’t need to worry about missing a moment of the action because it will be relayed live on big screens.

Gates open at 2pm with the performance starting at 4pm.

The party will continue after the rodeo fun has finished with those aged over 18 invited to boot scoot on over to the B&S After Party.

Partygoers are encouraged to don their cowboy hats and boots and meet the stars of the day in the hotel nightclub and beer garden.

Some of Brisbane’s best DJ’s will keep the crowd dancing to popular country tunes until 2am. Entry is free.
