Warm Your Winter With Celtic Music
Warm your winter's afternoon with a vibrant performance of Celtic music. The Queensland Irish Choir will sing up a storm at Chermside Kedron Community Church with their mid-year concert Celtic Winter, led by musical director David O'Keeffe.

Queensland Irish Choir president Barbara Poole said the concert would include songs from Ireland and other Celtic regions.

We have songs from Scotland, Cornwall, Ireland, and this time we decided to include songs from musicals Over the Rainbow, If I Loved You, and Love Changes Everything, Barbara said. Hopefully, the audience will enjoy them.

Celtic Winter will feature guest artists Fahrenheit Trio, consisting of the choir's accompanist Tim Li on piano, a violinist, and a cellist, and McCarthy's Reel, who play Irish folk music with a variety of instruments.

Barbara said the choir would be singing the Queensland debut of Paradise Lost, first written and performed in 2019 to commemorate the Black Saturday bushfires. The composer has requested that our choir perform this song and she is coming up from Melbourne to hear it, Barbara said.

Originally written as a solo for voice and piano, the piece has been expanded by the composer, Joanna White, for a full choir to demonstrate how the harmony of many voices can help with healing.

Tickets are $20. To book visit: www.trybooking.com/BSHTC
