New Rebel Concept Store Opens
Chermside is home to the first rebel experience concept store in Queensland. The launch of the new-look store was celebrated in May with sporting celebrities in attendance, such as Libby Trickett and a range of NRLW and NRL Broncos players. The Chermside store is the fourth rebel concept store to be rolled out nationally.

Rebel Sports Managing Director Gary Williams said the opening was a tremendous success and created a lot of excitement.

The Chermside store paves the way for an unmatched Australian customer experience and sporting retail journey, Gary said. The store showcases an elevated in-store experience to inspire customers, offering the latest in global sporting looks and state-of-the-art technology, as well as incorporating interactive zones.

While the store remains inclusive of all sporting activities, there is a heavy focus on basketball and football. New features of the Chermside store include 'The Home of Basketball' where customers can shoot hoops against the backdrop of street art murals painted by local street artist James Small. There's also a Running Zone for testing out shoes on a treadmill to ensure they are the right fit and style, and an Energy Zone to showcase the latest product each month.

I think it will draw more visitors to the area due to its unique offerings, and its unmatched customer experience is of benefit to locals who visit the store, Gary said.

The new store layout is easy to navigate, with clearly marked sporting zones throughout. There are also interactive screens, animated displays, and features that make the store feel much more like an experience than a regular shop.

It's not all about technology, though. There's a strong focus on customer service too. The front-of-house team is made up of experts from across a range of sports who can expertly advise customers on products and brands. Many of them play for and coach local sporting teams in the area.

Definitely drop by, chat with the experts, have some fun on the court, and experience an entirely new retail experience that's driven by inclusivity and innovation.
