Magic Movie Night In The Park

Get your skates ready because Xanadu is rolling onto the screen for this month's free movie in the park, hosted by Brisbane City Council.�

The colourful, cult Olivia Newton-John flick will transport you back in time with a soundtrack featuring music from Newton-John, Cliff Richard and Electric Light Orchestra.

Marchant Ward Councillor Fiona Hammond said everyone should come along, bring the kids and relive their childhood by seeing this iconic movie.�

We are going back to the 80s with Xanadu ' big hair, bright clothes and great music,� Fiona said.�

Once you have the Xanadu soundtrack in your head, you will never get rid of it, but oh, what a joy!�

Xanadu tells the tale of a Muse named Kira (Newton-John) who inspires an artist, played by Michael Beck, to open a nightclub. Things get complicated when they fall in love.

You're sure to see plenty of crimped hair and neon on the night with a fancy dress competition being held for those movie-goers wearing the best 80s outfit. The person deemed best-dressed will win a special gift basket.

Food and drinks will be available from The Grange Thistle Soccer Club as well as from a variety of food vans on site.
