A Note
t’s that time of the year – clear blue skies and winter sunshine – when
we realise how truly blessed we are to be living in this beautiful part of the world.
This month’s Chermside Guide is full of good ideas about how to get out and about, and enjoy everything our vibrant community has to offer.
Get your skates and legwarmers on and head to the Grange for a free outdoor movie screening of 80s favourite Xanadu – complete with roller-skating rink, 80s best-dressed competition, and more.
Maybe you’d like to barbecue like a pro? A cooking class from Meat at Billy’s could be just the thing, where you’ll learn how to cook (and most importantly, eat) the perfect steak over charcoal. Sounds like a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Music lovers of all tastes are catered for. The Pacific Belles, a vintage-style trio inspired by the wartime performers of the 40s and 50s, are bringing their special brand of boogie woogie to the Aspley Hornets Club. Blues guitarist 8 Ball Aitken proves blues is alive and well with an electric performance at Nundah, and the Eatons Hill Hotel will be pumping to the tunes of Sparksmania, a national DJ festival.
Enjoy the winter sunshine. Happy Reading!
